Youth Leadership Program
Question?
How do we help our youngest generation and give them the tools to be successful in life?
Answer!
The Youth Leadership Program offers opportunities for younger generations to make a difference in their communities through the power of communication.
Speaking in public is one of the most anxious things a young person can do. It tops sky-diving, mountaineering and second only to the fear of dying.
Please help eliminate this very real fear!
Want a Youth Leadership Program in your community?
Our Youth Leadership Program Chair will be glad to assist you!
How it works…
Participants learn to:
-
- Overcome nervousness when speaking before an audience.
- Organize and present ideas logically and convincingly.
- Listen carefully to others’ ideas.
- Offer advice to help others improve their speaking and leadership skills.
- Participate in – and even lead – group discussion or meetings.
The results…
The participants increase their self-confidence as they learn. They also make new friends and have fun. Toastmasters is an enjoyable learning experience!
The process…
Each Youth Leadership program group is limited to 15 to 20 people, with a maximum of 25. That way, each young person receives individual attention and has the opportunity to get practical experience. Participants for the program are selected by the sponsoring Toastmasters club or by a cooperating organization (such as their school).
A local Toastmasters club serves as sponsor and provides the experienced personnel to present the program.
The program is not in competition with school programs or courses, or other established youth projects. Instead, it’s a supplement to these programs, teaching communication and soft skills need for success in life.
